As in the piece of music that Samuel later performs at his concert, various layers are superimposed in the film, the story keeps running, with loops and resonances that create a narrative and aesthetic ground of a piece of art so full of melancholy, as of joie de vivre. A sensual film with a captivating atmosphere.”

“Mónica Lima continues her cinema of subtle clarity, elevated here to an impressive conceptual exploration. Namely: to each scene in the film corresponds a single shot, made in its duration, depth of field and by the use of panoramic shots. This produces an object that sways (as do the curtains with the wind, at one point,) between its main character and his surroundings, always in slow back-and-forth pans that seem to enjoy more what is in between than what is at the corners of the frame. A formal investigation (which recalls Hong Sang-soo's zooms) that reflects Samuel's own story, [a character] lost between Berlin and Lisbon, between his girlfriend and her mother, between dependence and independence, between recognition and anonymity.”
